This chapter looks at the changing nature of flood risk and what we can do to better manage our exposure and vulnerability to flooding. We address questions such as these:
- What are the different kinds of floods?
- Are all floods bad?
- Have floods been getting worse because of climate change?
- What can we do to reduce flood risk?
- Does flood insurance help or hurt in the effort to better manage floods?
